FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A man is accused of killing a South Florida jeweler after a deal involving a Rolex watch “had gone bad,” authorities said.

According to Broward County Sheriff’s Office online booking records, Nenad Milosevich, 56, was arrested on Dec. 26 and charged with murder in the death of Anthony D’Amore, 73, of Pompano Beach.

According to an arrest report from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, D’Amore was found dead on Dec. 23 inside his third-floor jewelry business in Fort Lauderdale, WPLG reported.

An autopsy conducted on Dec. 24 showed that the victim had multiple neck, back and sub-scalp contusions, as well as abrasions to the back of his neck, the television station reported.

Police said that surveillance video showed D’Amore had accompanied a person -- later identified as Milosevich -- into the business shortly after 10 p.m. ET on Dec. 20, according to WTVJ.

Police said D’Amore’s wife described the suspect as a “family friend.” Officials said that Milosevich had picked up D’Amore from his home earlier on the night of Dec. 20, WPLG reported.

According to the police report, the two men were seen on surveillance footage exiting an elevator and entering D’Amore’s office. Milosevich was seen exiting the business shortly after 12:45 a.m. on Dec. 21, “carrying a small bag and a large square items (sic) covered in a towel or blanket.”

Police said that the suspect then “reached into the suite and locked the door from the inside.”

Milosevich allegedly told detectives that he had dinner with D’Amore and then went to the jeweler’s business because he was hoping to get some jewelry for his girlfriend as a Christmas present, police said.

However, police said Milosevich told them he had made payments of $16,000 toward a $20,000 Rolex, WPLG reported.

“The deal for the Rolex had gone bad and (D’Amore) was upping the price because Milosevic was not paying fast enough,” a detective wrote in the police report. “(D’Amore) would also not give him other items in exchange for the monies already paid. This caused an argument between them.”

After Milosevich allegedly admitted to hitting D’Amato in the throat and choking, police arrested him on Dec. 26, WPLG reported.

He remains in the Broward County Jail without bond, online records show.
