In a Facebook post on Saturday, the National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, posted a pair of photographs of a tree that had its bark stripped after it was hit by lightning in Hamilton, Mississippi.

“Lightning strike completely debarked this tree,” the agency wrote.

The photos were sent to the National Weather Service by Henry Adams, who describes himself on his Twitter account as “a trained storm tracker.”

Adams, who graduated from Mississippi State University in 1976, is also a photographer and cancer survivor, according to his account.

“When Thunder Roars, Go Indoors!” the weather service wrote on Facebook.
