Dr. Teresa Hairston shared a major announcement on her Instagram page.  The man behind Central City Productions, Mr. Don Jackson and the woman behind Gospel Heritage, Dr. Teresa Hairston are now engaged. While the announcement has the Gospel community and industry buzzing, this announcement truly caught just about everyone by surprise.  However it was a pleasant surprise, with so many already sending out “Congratulations” to this newly formed power couple with the creation of their newly formed Gospel Empire.

About Don Jackson

Don Jackson is the owner and visionary of Central City Productions which is a full-service television company that produces, syndicates, and manages advertising sales for all of the company’s national television programs. Its mission is to develop television programming designed to communicate positive, uplifting images of Black people all over the world.

Don Jackson is one of the country’s most successful television and media entrepreneurs. His Chicago-based, Central City Productions, has produced, marketed and syndicated television shows for nearly a half-century, with many of the shows becoming bedrock programming for African-American audiences. Jackson is currently working on the launch of Stellar TV, a 24-hour seven day a week faith-based television entertainment network targeted to African American audiences that will premiere during the 2020 television broadcast season around the country.

He’s also developing the $37 million National Museum of Gospel Music honoring and chronicling the history of American gospel music, scheduled to open in September 2020. Jackson’s media career began in 1970 when he founded Central City Productions, Inc. For more than four decades, the company specializes in marketing, promotion, sales, syndication, digital media and the production of television programs for African- Americans.

About Teresa Hairston

Dr. Teresa Hairston is an internationally known and respected pioneer, scholar and historian and journalist in the field of Gospel music and ministry. In 1989, she established Gospel Today Magazine, a publication she launched with an investment of only $300, that ran for 23 plus. Gospel Today grew to become the longest running and most widely- distributed Urban Christian Lifestyle magazine in history.

Dr. Hairston established the Gospel Heritage Foundation in 1994, a non-profit organization established to “preserve the gospel heritage and perpetuate the gospel legacy” through education. Over the years, GHF’s annual International Worship Summit, has been attended by thousands of people from across the world and became the genre’s leading praise & worship gathering. In 2017, she relinquished her leadership and passed the torch to international Gospel artist, Vashawn Mitchell.
